Welcome to the North County Community Food Bank Website!

Volunteer; it’s the thing to do!
Are you tried of sitting around the house? Do you want to meet new people and maybe some old friends? The North County Community Food Bank is in need of a few “Good Volunteers.”

Although Fall and Winter are the heaviest seasons for assistance, we need volunteers to help with sorting, stocking and receiving food all year round.  We also need volunteers to be trained to do food boxes. There are jobs to be done Monday through Friday.  Many of our Volunteers come in 3 or 4 hours a week  We need help with the U.S.D.A. Commodities and Harvest Share distributions on a monthly basis.  Food is delivered to the Kiwanis Park building on  the first Monday of the month.  It is sorted on tables & distributed to people in need in large bags, then weighed & recorded.  It is quite an operation, and lots of helping hands are needed.

Then we have the Fresh Alliance food that needs to be picked up, sorted and put into refrigeration or freezer. Since we got the walk-in refrigerator/freezer we have been able to handle more perishable foods. 

Come on down to the Food Bank and sign up for a shift or two. It’s a great feeling all year long.

We take pride in serving our neighbors in crisis. Our goal is to help community members build more stable, independent and productive lives. We hope to keep you with updated information about the Food Bank as well as to show you some of the things we have been up to.
